Position: Data Scientist, Tax Data Solutions

Location: Bengaluru, India

Mode: Hybrid

The Tax Data Solutions team is responsible for delivering business insights and high-impact analyses to the Tax function at eBay. This role involves research, innovation, testing, and implementation of machine learning applications in the Tax domain, alongside strategic and analytical contributions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build close partnerships with business and product teams to identify data science opportunities.
• Research and deploy advanced machine learning algorithms to create impactful solutions.
• Develop data algorithms and automation tools as self-serve solutions.
• Drive insight-driven analytics and data visualization efforts.
• Perform deep analysis of eBay’s large datasets to support strategic initiatives.
• Maintain close collaboration with Customer Services, Legal, and Finance teams.

Candidate Profile:

• Proven experience delivering data science solutions from problem definition to deployment.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; additional programming languages are a plus.
• Hands-on with machine learning techniques and statistical methods; LLMs experience is a plus.
• Comfortable with exploratory data analysis and handling big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Teradata).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate commercial needs into software solutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate globally.
